đź“– Key Scriptures

Hebrews 5 – Jesus’ example of submission to the Father

Matthew 6 – How to approach God in reverence

John 14 – Love for Jesus is shown by obedience

🔥 Main Theme

The fear of the Lord is foundational in our walk with God. It’s not a fear of punishment, but a reverent awe and complete submission that transforms how we live, think, and relate to Him.

🌿 Why Fear of the Lord Matters

- Brings restoration, wisdom, and joy

- Aligns our lives with God’s purposes

- Helps us see sin clearly – without it, sin is normalized and even justified

- Pride replaces reverence when people see themselves as the highest authority

- Leads to a life where God feels distant

- There are eternal consequences to ignoring this reverence

🕊️ Jesus: Our Example of Reverent Submission

In Hebrews 5, Jesus demonstrated perfect submission to God’s will

In Matthew 6, He taught us to pray with reverence: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name”

Jesus didn’t treat God as optional—He was fully submitted to the Father

🙋‍♂️ A Call to Examine Our Hearts

Is Jesus the center of your life, or just an addition to it?

Judas called Jesus “Rabbi”—a teacher.

The other disciples called Him “Lord.”

How do you see Him?

đź“– Loving Jesus Means Obeying Him

John 14: “If you love Me, you will keep My commands.”

Yet many Christians don’t read the Bible daily

How can we obey what we don’t know?

→ Make God’s Word a daily priority

🌍 Living Through Trouble with Trust

Jesus promised we would face trouble

He also said: “Take heart, I have overcome the world”

Trust in God is not about avoiding trouble—it's about enduring it through faith

🛡️ The Enemy’s Strategy

Satan is a roaring lion, seeking to devour (1 Peter 5:8)

He hates the fear of the Lord—it demolishes hidden sin

Don’t take this spiritual battle lightly

🙌 Reverence Revealed Through Action

- Our actions demonstrate our devotion

- Delayed obedience is still disobedience

- Real fear of the Lord leads to quick and humble obedience

âť“ Questions to Reflect On

What is the fear of the Lord?

Why is it essential in our relationship with God?

How does the enemy try to distort or undermine it?

🧠 Defining the Fear of the Lord

Fear of the Lord is:

- A deep, reverent submission to God

- A heart posture that leads to obedience

- A force that exposes and demolishes hidden sin

📌 Takeaway

The fear of the Lord is not a burden—it’s a gift that brings clarity, humility, and transformation.

Let’s not treat Jesus as an accessory, but as the center of everything.
