The Amazing Race

Theme: The Christian life is a race—one with eternal purpose.

God’s mission is for the gospel to reach the ends of the earth.

Every believer has a role in this race, fueled by the Holy Spirit.

1. The Global Call — Acts 1:8

“You will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.”

South Africa Mission Trip

Mission work involved simple conversations with people.

Witnessing was natural—just talking to people.

The Holy Spirit was already at work before we even arrived.

Jicamarca Peru Mission Trip

Ministry to children: retreat, games, meals, and youth conference.

Acts of love opened the door for the gospel.

Key Point: Missions is not always about grand events; often it’s about being present, showing love, and trusting God to prepare hearts.

2. The Heavenly Vision — Revelation 7:9

“…a great multitude… from every nation, tribe, people and language…”

The finish line of the race is the gathering of people from every corner of the globe worshipping the Lamb.

Missions are the road to that vision becoming reality.

3. Running the Race with Endurance — Hebrews 12:1

The Christian race requires endurance.

Three traits of spiritual race runners:

a) Keep going even when tired — Don’t quit when it’s hard.

b) Start small and build up — Faithfulness in small things prepares for bigger challenges.

c) Eat right — Feed daily on the Word of Life for strength.

Application: God helps us run our race, but we must lay aside burdens and sins that slow us down.

4. Personal Challenge

Where is your part of the race? Local neighborhood? A different nation?

Are you willing to let God set the pace and direction?

Endurance is not just about speed—it’s about finishing well.

Closing Thought

Missions are the amazing race of the Church. We run with purpose, knowing that one day we will stand with the redeemed from every nation, worshipping Jesus together.
