Do It

What is the thing—(fill in your blank)—that is holding you back from accomplishing your God-given purpose?

Fear? Past failures? Doubt? Age? Insecurity? Disappointment? Whatever fills in that blank, God is calling you to move beyond it. He is not waiting for perfect people—He is calling willing people.

The resurrection account reminds us that God often calls ordinary people in extraordinary moments. The women who came to the tomb were grieving, uncertain, and afraid. Yet they became the first witnesses of the greatest news in history. God didn't wait until they were fearless before using them. He simply called them to do it.

1. Do It When You Are Scared

Matthew 28:1–7

The two Mary’s approached the tomb with heavy hearts. An angel appeared, the earth shook, and the guards became like dead men. Scripture tells us they were afraid.

Yet despite their fear, they obeyed.

Courage is not the absence of fear—it is choosing obedience in the middle of fear.

There will always be reasons to hesitate, but God is looking for people who will trust Him enough to move forward anyway.

Key Truth: You can be afraid and still do what God has called you to do.

2. Do It Regardless of Your Past Failures

Peter knew failure.

He denied Jesus three times during Jesus' greatest moment of need. By human standards, Peter should have been disqualified.

But Jesus did not define Peter by his worst moment.

Instead, Jesus restored him, called him again, and Peter became one of the greatest leaders of the early church.

Your past may explain where you've been, but it does not determine where God can take you.

Key Truth: Don't let yesterday's failures keep you from today's calling.

3. Do It With Questions and Doubt

Thomas struggled to believe the resurrection until he saw Jesus for himself.

Jesus could have rebuked him harshly.

Instead, Jesus entered the room with these words:

"Peace be with you."

Jesus led with peace.

He invited Thomas to bring his questions and doubts into His presence. Thomas's doubts were answered by an encounter with the risen Christ.

Faith does not mean never having questions. It means bringing those questions to Jesus instead of allowing them to keep you from following Him.

Key Truth: God is not intimidated by your questions. Keep following Him while He reveals the answers.

4. Do It No Matter Your Age

Jesus often pointed to children as examples of faith.

- Children trust.

- Children believe.

- Children follow.

God is looking for child-like faith—not childish faith, but humble, trusting faith.

Whether you are young and think you're too inexperienced, or older and think your best years are behind you, God still has purpose for your life.

Age is never an obstacle to God's calling.

Key Truth: Do it no matter your age.

Application

Whatever fills in your blank...

- Do it when you are scared.

- Do it regardless of your past failures.

- Do it with questions and doubt.

- Do it no matter your age.

The enemy wants your fear, failure, doubt, or age to become your excuse.

God wants them to become your testimony.

Conclusion

When we invite Jesus into our lives, His presence changes everything.

- His strength is greater than our fear.

- His grace is greater than our failures.

- His peace is greater than our doubts.

- His calling is greater than our limitations.

God is not asking us to have everything figured out before we obey.

He is simply saying:

Do it.

- Trust Him.

- Follow Him.

- Obey Him.

Because when Jesus is with us, we can do what He has called us to do under every circumstance.

Closing Challenge:

What's in your blank today?

Whatever it is, give it to Jesus—and then do it.
