Purpose Week 3

In Mark 6, Jesus takes five loaves and two fish, lifts them to heaven, blesses them, and distributes them to a crowd of more than 5,000 people. What began as one little boy's lunch became a miracle that impacted thousands.

The people from the surrounding towns came seeking a spiritual need, but soon a very real physical need emerged. Throughout Scripture, every miracle begins with a problem. Yet God often chooses to involve people in the process. He could do everything Himself, but He invites us to participate through our obedience. The question is: What is God waiting on you to do so that He can work in and through your life to bless others?

Often, God's instructions don't make sense from a human perspective. We want explanations before obedience, but the reality is that we should never try to explain God until we have fully obeyed God. How many times do we miss the best God has for us because what He asks us to do seems unreasonable or inconvenient?

Faith is often about simply doing the next right thing. We are called to obey whether or not the outcome is what we expect. True surrender means being okay with God's will, even when it differs from our own plans.

The little boy in this story surrendered what he had—his lunch—for the benefit of others. It didn't seem like enough, but when placed in Jesus' hands, it became more than enough. The challenge for us is the same: Do we trust God enough to surrender our will, our resources, our time, and our talents, even when it doesn't make sense?

When we faithfully give God what we have and simply do the next right thing, He can multiply our efforts in ways we could never imagine. Through our obedience, countless lives can be blessed.

As believers, we must remain aware of the Holy Spirit's leading. He is constantly speaking and guiding us. When we trust Him, partner with Him, and do our part, God can accomplish amazing things through our lives. Our responsibility is not to understand every detail—our responsibility is to obey. God will take care of the multiplication.
