Core Values Week 3
Healing is an essential part of the Christian walk because God Himself is our great physician — the One who restores and makes us whole.
The Greek word for “to be made whole” is sozo, which means salvation, healing, and wholeness. This reveals that God’s desire for us is not only spiritual salvation but complete restoration in body, mind, and spirit.
Healing and forgiveness are deeply connected. Just as God forgives our sins, He also desires to heal our wounds — both physical and emotional. The same healing that was available in the days of Jesus is still available to us today.
However, we must not blame God when healing doesn’t occur as we expect. When sin entered the world, Adam blamed both Eve and God instead of taking responsibility. In the same way, sickness and suffering exist because we live in a fallen world tainted by sin — not because God wills it.
True healing requires faith and dependence on God’s expertise. We must believe that God wants to heal us, that He is able, and that His timing and methods are perfect. When we trust Him, He brings restoration — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — making us whole through His love and power.
