The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

1) Distinct from water baptism (salvation).

2) Signifies that we are in ministry for the Lord.

3) Immerses us in who God is and brings us into the newness of life.

The Need for Baptism in the Spirit

1) After salvation, our greatest need is to be baptized in the Holy Spirit to minister using our spiritual gifts.

2) We receive the Spirit at salvation, but the baptism in the Spirit is a deeper empowerment.

3) This baptism gives us the capacity to be more than we could be without it.

The Power of the Spirit

1) Produces confidence and boldness.

2) Demonstrates the power of God to the world.

3) Affirms that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
