Focus Week 4
Are we a stumbling block or stepping stone spiritually?
We need to reflect the glory of God and point people to Jesus. The focus of our lives needs to be on God and not on us. If this is the case, we will reflect Jesus in our influence of others.
There comes a time when we have to mature in our faith. True devotion changes a person. We have devoted ourselves to God, so we need to reflect this in our lives, the places we go and the things we do.
We need to be proactive and not reactive when it comes to our faith. Let us be willing to humble ourselves, get on our knees and make God the #1 priority in our lives. If we make God our focus, we will lose the desire to do wrong things. Let us pray that God will help us be fully devoted to Him.
Walking in the Spirit can be difficult. We need to take small steps of obedience, obey Him, then take bigger steps. Like physical exercise, the more we “work out” spiritually, the more we will want to do it. Obedience equals reward with God.
Love is action; love is a verb. We say "I love you", but we also need to live like we love the Lord and each other. God proved His love for us when Christ died for us and paid our sin debt. We need to show our love for Him by focusing on Him, submitting to Him, living for Him, and reflecting Him in our lives.
